Strength to Conquer

"Do not give way to lowness while you are young. Rise up on the strength of God and resolve to conquer!"

- Catherine Booth

When I read that quote yesterday, I was reminded of the strength that God gives me so that I can rise up and conquer the challenges in my life. There is one particular challenge in my life right now that I simply could not overcome by myself...but by HIS grace, and strength that HE alone provides, I am conquering it. I have no need to fear..."If God is for us, than who can be against us?" Romans 8:31

"The Lord is my light and my salvation; Whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; Of whom shall I be afraid?"
Psalm 27:1

"God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble..."
Psalm 46:1

"O Lord, my strength and my fortress, My refuge in the day of affliction."
Jeremiah 16:19

"My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness."
2 Corinthians 12:9

As humans, we often have limited understanding of how great our God is. Sometimes, we limit in our minds, what God can do. For example; living in a larger family, the comment is often made saying: "How on earth can your mom handle everything? Having eight children, homeschooling and living on a farm? She must be a saint!" The answer is that the LORD gives my mom strength to overcome challenges, and HE provides a deep well of strength and comfort from which she and everyone of us can draw from.
"Oh give thanks to the Lord, for He is good!"
Psalm 136:1

Jenna-
I was JUST praying about this like an hour ago- realizing how inadequate we are but how cool that is because it's GOD who does everything. Sometimes I think that I should be a Mom because I'd be better at it than a lot of people- but it's GOD'S HANDS that work in me. How can I attribute anything good to myself when it's only His mercy and grace being poured out on us? How can I think that I made myself into a good mother? It is the Lord who creates life! I love how in Job God says stuff to Job like "Where were you when I laid the foundation of the earth?"- but we can do ANYTHING with Jesus- we're not limited one bit! We can walk on water- or being a home schooling mother of 8 and have a farm and still be filled with joy! When we have Jesus we have everything! Let us live and work in His Heart!

Peace of Jesus! Rose

Jenna,

Thanks so much for this reminder. I love that qoute - very true! I have been kind of discouraged lately about a trial I'm going through right now, but I need to remember how BIG God is and how POWERFul He is.

Have a wonderful day,

Blessings,
Rachel

Jenna, that is one thing the Lord has taught me this year--I think the most reoccuring of the themes. I am nothing; He is everything. I can't, but HE can. His grace is all sufficient.

Some days, all I have strength for is saying "God, you move this mountain. I am so weary; make my burden light." Now, it isn't enough for says on end; it is enough for that moment--and the cycle begins anew.

It shows me just how little I am and how great HE is.
